THE BRIMSTONE DECEIT: An In-Depth Examination of Supernatural Scents, Otherworldly Odors, and Monstrous MiasmasTHE BRIMSTONE DECEIT: An In-Depth Examination of Supernatural Scents, Otherworldly Odors, and Monstrous Miasmas by Joshua Cutchin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

Once again Joshua Cutchin knocks it out of the park! As a producer of Expanded Perspectives I’m a big fan of the paranormal, UFOs, Sasquatch, Time Slips and breakaway societies, I’ve read 100s of books and even more articles and blogs on these various subject’s. So many of them cover the same stories over and over again, but Joshua is like a breath of fresh air in this community. He continually looks at these fringe and Fortean topics from an entirely new angle. His first book “A Trojan Feast” was terrific but this latest book is amazing! I’ve never even considered the concept of strange odors and otherworldly scents being associated with these incredible sightings. Whether it’s the smell of gunpowder on an ancient battlefield like Gettysburg, the hint of Ozone surrounding a UFO sighting, the smell of your dead grandfather’s favorite pipe to the overpowering smell of sulphur accompanied by a shadow being! Joshua has collected a massive amount of stories, tales and eye witness accounts that shows that so often smells are a major part of someone’s unexplained experience. Great work, great idea and a great book! If you are at all interested in the unknown, the strange and the mysterious then you definitely need this book in your collection.

Secret Chamber Of Osiris,The: Lost Knowledge Of The Sixteen PyramidsSecret Chamber Of Osiris,The: Lost Knowledge Of The Sixteen Pyramids by Scott Creighton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars   by: Kyle Philson

The Secret Chamber of Osiris; Lost Knowledge of the Sixteen Pyramids, is Scott Creighton’s second book, following up The Giza Prophecy. This was an excellent book!! He starts off by describing his trek through the Egyptian desert looking at these great pyramids. You actually feel like you are there with him. I kind of felt like Indiana Jones a few times. Then, Scott introduces you with his theory of where there may be a hidden chamber near Giza. He lays out his thought process and potential evidence, and then tells the story of what happened when he tried to go to the actual area. Apparently the local guards don’t like Americans but the Scot’s are fine. He delves into the legends of secret chambers, he thoroughly investigates Howard Vyse and tries to determine if he may have committed forgery in the relieving chambers above the King’s Chamber. He explores the possibility of cycles of deluge and drought, and what may have been their cause. He speculates about the true age of the pyramids, lays out evidence to support the older age of the Sphinx, and makes a compelling argument as to what the 16 original Pyramids really were. He even includes his own theory about how the pyramids were built. If you are interested in lost civilizations, ancient cultures, ancient technologies, then this is a must read for your. Great work Scott!!!

Point of Origin: Gobekli Tepe and the Spiritual Matrix for the World’s CosmologiesPoint of Origin: Gobekli Tepe and the Spiritual Matrix for the World’s Cosmologies by Laird Scranton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

Let me start off by saying that Laird Scranton has done a fantastic job once again with this latest book on the connections in the symbolism, cosmology, myths, and more of various different cultures, and shows their commonality in the very ancient past. The deeper you get into the book the more it becomes painfully obvious that many ancient cultures around the world shared language and symbols. Laird argues that the Dogon tribe have one of the most pure forms of this teaching. There are also connections to reality, how they see the world and creation, multiple dimensions, the structure of matter, and what else may be out there. Then he gets into Gobekli Tepe, and how it may represent a center from where all these different cultures diverge. Like an ancient university or learning center. Fantastic Read!! If you are interested in ancient cultures and lost civilizations then you need to read this!

Sky PeopleSky People by Ardy Sixkiller Clarke

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

If you are interested in the UFO Phenomenon then this is the books for you. Sky People is a collection of interviews with the indigenous people of Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico about encounters with UFOs. After being influenced at an early age by explorers John L. Stephens and Frederick Catherwood who documented the existence of ancient cities in the jungles of Mesoamerica. My favorite part about this book is that it has dozens of stories that I have never heard of before. Some of the people who told these stories are now dead. Old farmers living in very remote areas would have no reason to make some of these things up. Many of the stories tell about those who willingly and happily travel with the star people in order to learn, and sometimes to teach, to those who feel used or abused. It seems that fear of the visitors is a common reaction. There are a surprising number of UFO abduction stories, with missing memories and missing time, and while almost all are returned unharmed, there is one boy who went missing, and some where a woman became pregnant, but only for a few months. All in all I think it is a great book for anyone interested in UFOs.

Secrets of Ancient America: Archaeoastronomy and the Legacy of the Phoenicians, Celts, and Other Forgotten ExplorersSecrets of Ancient America: Archaeoastronomy and the Legacy of the Phoenicians, Celts, and Other Forgotten Explorers by Carl Lehrburger

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

The Secrets of Ancient America is an incredible book. It is a must read for any American interested in occupants of our continent long before Christopher Columbus. This is not a theory, it is a fact. In the beginning of the book Carl explains that the people of Columbus’s time did not think that the earth was flat. This was an invention of the nineteenth century. The Egyptian- Greek scientist Eratosthenes had already established the circumference and diameter of the earth in the third century BC. Columbus would have had access to ancient Viking and Arab maritime maps; he knew how much food to take, etc. Then he tells the stories of the Phoenicians and the copper mines of Isle Royale, The Crespi Caves of Ecuador, Roman Coins found throughout the Americas, Hebrew inscriptions, Celtic and Norse runes, Shiva linga, Egyptian Hieroglyphs even Chinese and Japanese influences. The reader is left with little doubt that there were visitors here from many cultures and their level of understanding of the Cosmos was vast. There are over 300 pictures that show these solar picture shows that are expertly mapped out on the walls of caves and flat surfaces on the solstices and equinoxes. Like the ones at the Anubis Caves. All in all one of the best books I have read on the subject matter. My hat is off to the work that Carl Lehrburger has done with this book. Fantastic!!

Atlantis and the Coming Ice Age: The Lost Civilization--A Mirror of Our WorldAtlantis and the Coming Ice Age: The Lost Civilization–A Mirror of Our World by Frank Joseph

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

Frank Joseph does it again! Fantastic book if you are into ancient history especially if you are particularly interested in the Mayan culture. The book points out that we are perhaps sitting on the precipice of a great catastrophe. It happened before and it will happen again. The ancients not only speak about great catastrophe’s from the past but give warning to any future culture. There are many terrifying possibilities from killer Asteroid Impacts, Mass Coronal Ejections, shifting poles and the release of giant natural gas pockets from below the ocean. This has wiped out ancient cultures perhaps countless times. We are enjoying an unusual warm period for this planet and we are long over due for another Ice Age! Very eye opening. Not to be all gloom and doom but a great read none the less.

EncounteEncounters with Flying Humanoids: Mothman, Manbirds, Gargoyles & Other Winged Beastsrs with Flying Humanoids: Mothman, Manbirds, Gargoyles & Other Winged Beasts by Ken Gerhard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

Encounters with Flying Humanoids is one of the best sources for a full compendium/list of esoteric flying cryptids. It is packed from cover to cover with stories of strange beast that have been spotted all over the entire world. The author did far more than just research these creatures from the internet and compile them for this book. He actually traveled to some of these places and interviewed some of the eyewitnesses himself and it really shows. Before this book I was only aware of the ever-popular Mothman of Point Pleasant West Virginia. I had no idea of all of the sightings of these unusual beings that have been sighted throughout time. Creatures such as Owlman, Batsquatch, the Briggs Road Bat Man, the Brentford Griffin, the Jersey Devil, the Houston Bat Man and my favorite the Batwinged Monkey Bird. The list goes on and on. If you love bizarre stories of strange and unusual cryptids or you know someone who does, do yourself a favor and read this book. You will not be disappointed.

Remnants of the GodsRemnants of the Gods by von Daniken, Erich

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Cam Hale

Like most readers I know Erich’s work from Chariots of the Gods so when this book was released I jumped at the chance to read it. I enjoyed every minute of this book. He walks you into the fact that all we have before us now was built on what was left by much much earlier civilizations and so much more. The book is filled with wonderful pictures and his take on these megalithic sites. If you are a fan of Ancient Aliens or megalithic sites you will enjoy this book!

The Exodus Reality: Unearthing the Real History of Moses, Identifying the Pharaohs, and Examing the Exodus from EgyptThe Exodus Reality: Unearthing the Real History of Moses, Identifying the Pharaohs, and Examing the Exodus from Egypt by Scott Alan Roberts

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

Few people are as iconic as the legendary Moses; a stoic leader who delivered his people from the unbearable Pharaoh. But who was he really? In my early youth I was told that he was raised in the house of Ramses the Great and I can still hear Yul Brynner saying “You Have Conquered, Moses”! However, Scott Alan Roberts and John Richard Ward have completely new take on this historic story. Each author has their own distinct theory regarding the true identity of Moses and the monarchs of that time, a difference of about 90 years. John Richard Ward’s theory revolves around Amenhotep, son of Hapu while Scott Alan Robert’s theory revolves around Senenmut. As an avid reader of history, I truly enjoyed this book. Great insight along with incredible photos is why this is a must for anyone’s bookshelf. Do yourself a solid and pick up this book you won’t regret it

The UFO Singularity: Why Are Past Unexplained Phenomena Changing Our Future? Where Will Transcending the Bounds of Current Thinking Lead? How Near Is the Singularity? The UFO Singularity: Why Are Past Unexplained Phenomena Changing Our Future? Where Will Transcending the Bounds of Current Thinking Lead? How Near Is the Singularity? by Micah Hanks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

A truly fascinating look into the real UFO phenomenon and a glimpse of what the future holds. I have read several books on the subject of UFO’s but have never seen an author take this very different approach to the study of this aerial phenomenon. Are these flying vehicles from another inter-stellar galaxy or another dimension? Are they in fact us from the very distant future travelling back to our present time only to gawk at our primitive ways? Or perhaps, they are the result of some top secret military operation or the secretive constructions of some break away society advancing well beyond the common man. This book opens up all of these possibilities and with the ever encroaching singularity approaching, some of these ideas bare contemplation. If you enjoy UFO’s or Ray Kurzweil and the Singularity or just like to entertain futuristic thoughts, then this is a must read for you.

The Lost Colonies of Ancient America: A Comprehensive Guide to the Pre-Columbian Visitors Who Really Discovered AmericaThe Lost Colonies of Ancient America: A Comprehensive Guide to the Pre-Columbian Visitors Who Really Discovered America by Frank Joseph

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

-Free review copy courtsey of New Page Books and Warwick Associates.

One of the most comprehensive guides to the absolutely undeniable fact that there were numerous cultures who not only found but lived here in the New World long before Christopher Columbus. Frank Joseph breaks down the numerous cultures that occupied North and South America long ago. From the Sumerians, Egyptians, Romans, Hebrews, Chinese, Kelts, Norse and the Knights Templar as well as numerous other cultures, the author takes you on an artifact based journey. There are numerous items that leave little doubt about pre-columbian visitors such as: The Hearn Tablet, The Lexington Tablet, the Magra Fuente Bowl, the Arizona Hohkam Labrinth, the Utah Plate, the Wisconsin Oil Lamp and of course the most popular Kensington Rune and Bat Creek Stone. Along with the proof of shared languages, DNA and even rare HTLV-1 viruses. Despite all of these facts, main stream Archaeologist still refuse to believe in that anyone was here before Columbus. Most of the academics consider the items discovered as hoaxes without ever even laying eyes on them. I suggest everyone read this book!

Life Before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children's Memories of Previous LivesLife Before Life: A Scientific Investigation of Children’s Memories of Previous Lives by Jim B. Tucker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

This book is a must read book in my opinion for anyone interested in past lives or reincarnation. Dr. Tucker, who has taken over the practice since the passing of his predecessor Dr. Ian Stevenson began this project, researches and studies subjects using a scientific approach. From the study of over 2,500 cases worldwide, it is clear that something very interesting is going on when it comes to past lives. It is very interesting how some of these children even bare the scars of how they died in the previous life, have similar habits such as drinking alcohol, using tobacco, or have phobias pertaining to how they died. They even re-create how they died by acting out the scenarios. Some of the things these children know is impossible. A very eye opening book.

Mirabilis: A Carnival of Cryptozoology and Unnatural HistoryMirabilis: A Carnival of Cryptozoology and Unnatural History by Karl Shuker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

-Free review copy courtesy of Anomalist Books.

This book is a true Monsters Compendium of all things cryptid! If you are fan of cryptozoology like I am, then this is a must have. Dr. Shuker explores all types of creatures big or small from different regions of the world. Like Flying Turtles, Sea Creatures, Giant Lemurs, Dwarf Hippos, Mega Beavers, Crocodilians, Tusked Megalppedus and truly the most terrifying Giant Spiders. As the father of three young boys, my children were as interested in the tales of such creatures as I was. It’s a great compilation for all ages. I also enjoyed the numerous illustrations. All in all, this is a magnificent book on cryptozoology. I give Dr. Shuker 5 stars. If you or anyone you know is in to cryptids, then this is a must have.

African Temples of the Anunnaki: The Lost Technologies of the Gold Mines of EnkiAfrican Temples of the Anunnaki: The Lost Technologies of the Gold Mines of Enki by Michael Tellinger

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

-Free review copy courtesy of Inner Traditions/Bear & Company

A wonderful book detailing the over 200,000 stone structures that make up the landscape in southern Africa. I had no idea that so many existed. There definately was a very large civilization working and mining southern Africa for gold just as the Ancient Sumarian texts tells us. There are numerous photographs detailing the structures. This book has more photographs than I have ever seen in any similar books about lost civilizations. There were millions of mines, energy circles, agricultural terraces, calendars and statues that were most certainly buried by flood silt from the great Deluge between 12,000 – 13,000 years ago. If you are interested in archeology and/or ancient cultures then this is the book for you. Excellent book for anyones personal collection.

The Mysterious Origins of Hybrid Man: Crossbreeding and the Unexpected Family Tree of HumanityThe Mysterious Origins of Hybrid Man: Crossbreeding and the Unexpected Family Tree of Humanity by Susan B. Martinez

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by Kyle Philson

-Free review copy courtesy of Inner Traditions/Bear & Company

Susan B. Martinez, Ph.D., has done an incredible amount of research for this book and it shows. I don’t think I have ever read a more detailed theory as to how we became who we are. A clever look a an alternative to evolution. I especially enjoyed the idea of the coexistence of all the early races, the mating game, the multiple gardens of eden and the living evidence of those ancient races today. I highly recommend this book.

The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-UpThe Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-Up by Richard J. Dewhurst

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

I have always been fascinated with the stories of the Giants that once walked the earth. The men of great renown, the Nephilim. Whether it was biblical accounts, Greek or Norse legends, the stories have always consumed me. Why was I not taught this material in school or by adults when I was young. Giants were real and the proof is everywhere. Richard does a fantastic job collecting and reporting on numerous accounts from local newspapers and articles from early America. He also demonstrates how the Smithsonian actively covered up and continues to cover up these ancient peoples. This is not a conspiracy theory, the evidence is worldwide but especially here in north America. I have studied this subject for a while and have read numerous books on the subject from other researchers such as Jim Vieira and Fritz Zimmerman and this one is incredible. I think that everyone needs to read this book!!

Forgotten Civilization: The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our Past and FutureForgotten Civilization: The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our Past and Future by Robert M. Schoch

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by Kyle Philson

-Free review copy courtesy of Inner Traditions/Bear & Company
I was first blown away in the early 90’s when I saw a documentary on TV hosted by Charleton Heston about the Sphinx and how two men had a interesting theory about the age of the Sphinx and civilization. Those men were Robert M. Schoch and John Anthony West and they truly inspired me to really think about our past. Now with the recent discoveries of Gobekli Tepe, Gadung Padang and Nan Madol they only strengthen Robert’s theories about ancient civilizations. The world is far older than mainstream archaeology tells us. This book describes what ended most of those early civilizations. A coronal mass ejection/solar outburst that caused volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, fires and massive floods worldwide. It also warns us that this will happen again. Great Book! A must have for anyone’s library!

Before Atlantis: 20 Million Years of Human and Pre-Human CulturesBefore Atlantis: 20 Million Years of Human and Pre-Human Cultures by Frank Joseph

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Cam Hale

Being a history buff I couldn’t wait to read this book and it didn’t let me down! The book covers everything from theories of evolution ( aquatic ape) to proof of pre-ice age, advanced cultures. I would suggest this book to anyone interested in the history of man that’s not taught in school! Like always Frank doesn’t let his reader down!

The Secret Influence of the Moon: Alien Origins and Occult PowersThe Secret Influence of the Moon: Alien Origins and Occult Powers by Louis Proud

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Cam Hale

This book is amazing! It is very well researched and Louis does a great job detailing the moons history with our civilization. He covers all angles from UFO’s, supposed moon landings to the moons effect on the body! I honesty wasn’t sure I would enjoy the book but after chapter 1 I was hooked! If you are into reading about the strange universe in which we live this book be right up your alley.

A.D. After Disclosure: When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth About Alien ContactA.D. After Disclosure: When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth About Alien Contact by Richard M. Dolan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

I have always been fascinated by the subject of UFO’s and the unusual experiences that people have with them. Whether it is they’re different shapes, sizes, colors or the materials they are made of, they are always fun to day dream about. However, most books contemplate they’re actual existence. Are they from another galaxy, another dimension or another time? For the first time ever, I have finally read a book that does not even question whether or not they exist and that the world’s governments are hiding this information. This book details how the government and society as a whole will react when this information is finally revealed. There are dozens of scenarios detailed within this book and they’re eventual outcomes. This is a fantastic read. If you are already convinced that UFO’s are real and would love to contemplate how and when this information will be released and what outcomes are in store, then this is the book for you. Great job Richard M. Dolan and Bryce Zabel.

Close Encounters of the Fatal Kind: Suspicious Deaths, Mysterious Murders, and Bizarre Disappearances in UFO HistoryClose Encounters of the Fatal Kind: Suspicious Deaths, Mysterious Murders, and Bizarre Disappearances in UFO History by Nick Redfern

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

I have read numerous books concerning UFO’s and I have read numerous books by Nick Redfern. This by far is one of my favorites. I have never read anything that depicts all of the strange and unusual deaths surrounding UFO’s. From bizarre suicides to peoples flesh being melted off, this books highlights the sinister side of both those who actually encounter UFO’s to those trying to keep the phenomenon a secret. If you are interested in UFO’s and/or people who die under mysterious circumstances then this book is for you. Great Job Nick!!

The Roswell Legacy: The Untold Story of the First Military Officer at the 1947 Crash SiteThe Roswell Legacy: The Untold Story of the First Military Officer at the 1947 Crash Site by Jesse Marcel Jr.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

There is not a more popular UFO story than the story of the Roswell Crash of 1947 in New Mexico. It is the pinnacle of UFO stories by far. In his book ‘The Roswell Legacy’ Jesse Marcel, Jr. and Linda Marcel give a new perspective of the iconic crash. From the viewpoint of a young man, the author gives the great details of what his father saw and brough home. Also, the encounters he had with government ‘G’ men that brough him to an underground instillation in Washington D.C. to discuss these items. A must read for anyone intrested in UFO’s as well as the Roswell Incident. A great book about the most popular UFO case in all of humanity!

Lost Race of the Giants: The Mystery of Their Culture, Influence, and Decline throughout the WorldLost Race of the Giants: The Mystery of Their Culture, Influence, and Decline throughout the World by Patrick Chouinard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

-Free review copy courtesy of Inner Traditions/Bear & Company
As long as I can remember I have had a fascination with Giants. They were real! From the Bible to Norse Deities to Gigantopithecus and Meganthropus the author dives deep into the history of the Giants and they’re tales. They were all over from Europe to North America, Atlantis and they’re destruction during the great flood. There are accounts of these Giants in mythology and numerous 19th century newspapers. Seven, eight, nine and even up to eighteen feet tall. Some with armor, swords, crowns, copper bracelets, red hair, dark hair, double rows of teeth, the whole gambit. The fossil record supports these claims. For some reason the Smithsonian and others have suppressed these finds. If you are a history buff, you must read this book. It’s time you realized the truth of our past is very cloudy and a lost race of these Giants existed on this planet. As mentioned above, one of my favorite topics!

Lost Secrets of the Gods: The Latest Evidence and Revelations on Ancient Astronauts, Precursor Cultures, and Secret SocietiesLost Secrets of the Gods: The Latest Evidence and Revelations on Ancient Astronauts, Precursor Cultures, and Secret Societies by Michael Pye

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

Homerun! If you are into ancient history, alternative history, secret societies, giants, ancient aliens, Atlantis, etc., then this the book for you. As a host of a radio show that almost entirely focuses on fringe subject’s like these, I could not recommend a better book. The book contains a full gambit of questions and theories to ponder. Are we the Aliens? Was Plato’s Atlantis Fact or Fiction? Was there a great race of Giants that ruled North America? And many, many other interesting stories. This is a must have for anyone’s bookshelf, once again New Page Books puts out an amazing product!

Unidentified: The UFO Phenomenon: How World Governments Have Conspired to Conceal Humanity S Biggest SecretUnidentified: The UFO Phenomenon: How World Governments Have Conspired to Conceal Humanity S Biggest Secret by Robert Salas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

A great read on government secrecy and cover ups from the first hand experience of a retired Air Force intercontinental ballistic missile launch officer. Robert Salas digs into more than six decades of UFO encounters, alien abductions and the takeover of some of our most secure installations. He also includes his own experiences while being a launch officer in charge nuclear armed Minuteman missiles and how they were disabled by some unknown force at Malstrom AFB. He shows that not only does the government know about UFOs but have deliberately set out to cover up or distort any information regarding their existence. I highly recommend this book.

Demon Street, USA: The True Story of a Very Haunted HouseDemon Street, USA: The True Story of a Very Haunted House by David Rountree and Robbie Lunt

My rating: 5 of 5 stars by: Kyle Philson

A fantastic story and journey about how to find your fears, confront them and eventually overcome them. I am not well versed in ghosts, hauntings or demonic entcounters, but this book gives great insight into that world. Not only do you see how two men with they’re friends encounter these terrible entities at Clevis’s house, but you get to see how Robbie learns the way of a medicine man through the help and guidance of David. Robbie is able to gain the skills necessary to take on these demonic beings. A great story all around. If you are into Haunted Houses, Demons, Spirits then this is a must read book. I think this story would make a great movie. Way to go David and Robbie!
